When can I move in?
If there is a storage space available that meets your specific storage needs, you can move in anytime during normal access hours.

How much notice needs to be given before I move out?
All contracts are month-to-month. However, we do require a 10-day notice before you move out.

What type of documentation do I need to provide in order to rent a space?
We require a government-issued photo ID (example: driver’s license, state ID, or passport).

Do I need to sign a long-term lease?
No, we rent on a month-to-month basis unless the customer requests otherwise.

How do I make a payment?
You can pay in person, mail a check or money order or make a payment through our website. You may also sign up to have payments automatically deducted from your credit card/savings/checking account monthly.

What forms of payment do you accept?
VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, checks, and money orders.

Do you sell boxes and storage supplies?
Yes. We sell various moving supplies in our office.

How do I know how much storage space I will need?
You can either use our Size Guide tool on our website or call our team for assistance.

Are there any items that I am NOT able to store?
Liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, toxic materials and perishables. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding a specific item.

Does there have to be someone in the office to let me through the security gates?
No. At the time of signing you will be given your own security pass code that will allow you access to your unit during normal access hours.

Do you have handcarts and dollies available at your facility?
Yes. You are welcome to use our complimentary carts to move in.

Is there a loading dock?
All our loading docks are located in the back of the storage facilities through the alley. Customers can park their cars in the loading dock area and have easy access to their self storage units and the building's freight elevator. The loading docks have high ceilings and are large enough to fit vans or moving trucks.

What are your access hours?
Our Chicago, IL facility provides extended access hours from 6:00am - 10:00pm every day. Access is provided through a secure keypad system. Renters are provided with access codes and a customized phone application in order to gain access. If you would like to get set up with after-hours access please contact the office.
Our Hammond, IN facility offers access 9:00am - 6:00pm Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 3:00pm Saturday. -
Is the building secure?
Yes. Our self storage facilities are monitored by onsite staff during office and access hours. Furthermore, our building is monitored 24/7 by a security camera system and motion sensors throughout the facility.

Do you have any specials?
Yes. We often run specials and promotions throughout the year, but due to the nature of the self storage business, our promotions and specials change. We ask that you please contact us to learn more about our current money-saving options.

What type of storage unit do I need?
Many factors determine your best storage solution. Do you want the convenience of a ground-floor unit? Do your belongings need climate control? Schedule an appointment to view our facility. Contact one of our managers for a tour.

Do I need my own lock?
You will need your own lock at Pro Self Storage facilities, which you can purchase at the facility. You are also welcome to provide your own lock.

What pest control and cleanliness measures do you take?
Every building at Pro Self Storage is treated for pests and rodents on a regular schedule.

Am I required to purchase insurance on my storage unit?
Insurance is required. If your homeowner or renter's insurance doesn't cover stored items, we can help you sign up with a storage insurance provider. The rate varies based on the amount of coverage you want.

How far in advance can I reserve a storage unit?
We give you the flexibility to book a reservation up to 30 days in advance to help you plan ahead.

Is my price guaranteed as long as I rent?
Pro Self Storage works hard to provide value for our customers through competitive pricing and by maintaining clean, safe, and secure facilities with the best customer service in the self storage industry. Please keep in mind that your original monthly rate is not guaranteed for the life of your rental with Pro Self Storage. From time to time, we make adjustments to our customers’ rental rates to keep up with the rising costs associated with providing top-notch service and a clean, secure facility.

Can I move to a different storage unit size after I’ve already moved in?
Our month-to-month rental agreements make changing units easy (subject to availability). If the unit size you want is available at your facility, then you can move into another unit. Your facility manager will be able to assist you in that transition.

What happens if I’m late making a payment?
Your monthly rent is due on the same day each month (the anniversary date of the rental). Pro Self Storage provides a five-day grace period before charging a late fee on the 6th day past a payment due date. The late fee assessed varies by state according to local self storage law; the grace period for a past-due payment can also vary by state. For further details, please refer to your lease or contact your storage facility. Late fees cannot be waived and the full balance must be paid immediately to avoid foreclosure. No partial payments are accepted. Please also note that until your account is paid in full, access to your unit may be denied, your gate code access is removed and your unit will be over-locked.

Does any one else have access to my unit?
You alone control access to your storage unit, unless YOU choose to give someone else access. If you do give someone else access to your storage unit, it’s important that you provide us their name.
